Why we built GraphCalc
GraphCalc started with a small, stubborn frustration: seeing a graph should not depend on what you can afford. So we built a set of graphing tools that are free, need no account, and open in any browser.
The frustration that started it
For a lot of people, the first graphing calculator is a hurdle, not a help. It is an expensive handheld with a tiny grey screen, or a web app that hides the good features behind a login and a subscription. The maths is not the hard part. The access is. A student trying to understand a parabola at eleven at night should not be blocked by a price, a sign-up form, or a download.
We kept meeting that same wall, and kept thinking the same thing: the tool should get out of the way. Plotting a function, finding where two curves cross, sweeping an angle around a polar grid, these are ordinary things a browser can do instantly. There was no good reason to gate them.
What we believe
GraphCalc is built on a few plain convictions, and every decision on the site is checked against them:
- Free should mean free. No account, no trial that expires, no feature dangled behind a paywall. You open the page and it works.
- Your work is yours. Calculations run in your own browser. We set no tracking cookies and we do not collect your equations. What you graph stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
- Show the reasoning, not just the answer. Roots, intercepts, turning points, and tables are there so you can see why a curve behaves the way it does, which is the part that actually teaches.
- Works on the device you already have. A phone on the bus is as valid as a laptop at a desk. The tools are built to be usable on both.
What we have built so far
Three tools, each free and each with a proper guide behind it. One plots functions on a Cartesian grid, one draws polar curves, and one is a full scientific keypad.

The calculator guides are written and reviewed to be honest about the maths. We would rather explain one idea clearly than list ten features.
